Nanoparticle characterisation in the classroom laboratory

The unique applicability of qNano in the educational arena was highlighted recently at Nanocamp 2010. Nanocamp is an annual hands-on nanotechnology course for New Zealand high school students, sponsored by The MacDiarmid Institute. Dr. Richard Blaikie, Director of The MacDiarmid Institute and Professor of Microelectronics and Nanofabrication at the University of Canterbury, used qNano at Nanocamp. Says Dr. Blaikie "qNano from Izon Science was an ideal tool for showing students alternatives to direct microscopy techniques for characterising nanoparticles. It was easy to set up and gave results quickly. It was very effective in teaching them a great deal about nanotechnology in a very short time."
