Izon donates to Canterbury Earthquake Appeal
Izon Science has contributed $3000 to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal Fund. In the wake of the major earthquake which hit Christchurch, New Zealand in September, measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale, Hans van der Voorn, Executive Chairman of Izon, pledged to donate $500 from each instrument sale made from then until the end of October, to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal. A cheque for $3000 was recently sent to the Mayor of Christchurch for inclusion in the Appeal.
More than $19million in total has been donated to the appeal fund, which is being co-ordinated by the NZ Red Cross.
“I am pleased that Izon is able to support the relief and recovery work being undertaken in the Canterbury region. While the destructive effects of the earthquake were localized, and the Izon office escaped relatively unscathed, we are very aware that many businesses and homes suffered extensive damage and require on-going financial and moral support.” says van der Voorn.
