Nanotechnology pioneer Don Eigler views New Zealand nanotechnology as world classs

Dr Don Eigler, Kavli Prize winner and pioneer in the art of nanotechnology, rates New Zealand’s work in nanotechnology as of ‘global standard and relevance’, citing Izon as an example of world class innovation in nanotechnology. Dr Eigler is in New Zealand as a guest of the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology.

Dr Eigler achieved fame in the late 1980s by being the first to move and fix a single atom, with numerous on-going achievements in nanoscience research culminating in being awarded the Kavli Prize for nanoscience in 2010.
